Kizuki Somegami is a thin, high quality, kozo paper originally developed for chine-collé (a printmaking technique). The paper is cooked with caustic soda and dyed with direct synthetic dyes. The resulting feel of the paper is fine, even, and crisp.
Series Statement
Since beginning paper art in 2015, I’ve amassed a wide-ranging assortment of specialty papers. Rather than sitting in storage, I’m showcasing these papers via an on-going series entitled “The Material Library Series”. Every specialty paper in my evolving paper library is used to create a collage with the same underlying layout based on my signature slope fields aesthetic - an expressive mathematical visualization of differential equations.
